About Lauren

I am a registered clinical counsellor in the province of British Columbia (#21422) and am also an applicant with the College of Health and Care Professionals of B.C (formerly the College of Psychologists).

I completed my PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2025 through Simon Fraser University. My graduate research focused on how individuals in monogamous and non-monogamous relationships communicate about sexual experiences and construct boundaries. I enjoy learning about intimate relationship processes and supporting clients communicate more effectively.

I completed predoctoral residency training with Vancouver Coastal Health, where I specialized in sexual medicine, eating disorders, and assessing and treating trauma and stressor related disorders. I have advanced clinical training in Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Dialectical Behavior (DBT) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), as well as specialized protocols for treating PTSD, chronic pain, and insomnia.

In addition to the acronyms behind my name, I am also a high school dropout, a wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece, and friend. I try to show up as myself as much possible with clients, as I find that helps others access their own authentic selves. That means that I often laugh with my clients, sometimes tear up with them, and have been known to throw some colourful language around in session.
